Homeless Hotline is a phone information and referral service for people who are:

  • experiencing homelessness
  • housed but at risk of homelessness

24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Calls to the Homeless Hotline are free. Calls from mobiles are charged at applicable rates.

National Relay Service (NRS)

Contact us through your preferred NRS call channel and ask to call 13 74 68, if you are d/Deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech difficulty.

How does the Homeless Hotline work?

When you call, we’ll provide information about where you can find:

  • emergency and crisis accommodation
  • meals and showers
  • counselling, health care and mental health support—if relevant to your situation.

In some cases, we’ll refer you to other services to help you further.

What happens when I call?

When you call, we’ll ask for a few personal details. We’ll then refer you to nearby services relevant to your situation.

What personal information will they need?

To provide you with the right information, you’ll be asked for your:

  • name
  • date of birth
  • gender
  • location.

To connect you with appropriate services, we may ask additional questions. We will only collect personal information that is relevant to your situation.

All personal information collected is confidential. Your information will only be disclosed with your consent (or if the law requires it).
